• If they are unavailable, it is then transferred to the mother's paternal grandmothers, followed by the child's sisters, maternal female cousins, nieces from a sister, nieces from a brother, paternal aunts, paternal female cousins, the father's paternal aunts, the daughters of the father's paternal aunts and the daughters of the father's paternal uncles in that order.
  وإذا انعدمت النساء انتقلت الحضانة إلى الأقرب فالأقرب من الذكور العصبة المحارم. فإن لم يوجد فالأقرب من ذوي الرحم المحارم. فإن عدموا فالعصبة غير المحارم.
• The mother shall have right of custody, failing which the paternal grandmother shall have that right, followed by the full sister, the uterine sister, the consanguine sister, the full daughter, the maternal niece, the paternal niece, maternal aunts and paternal aunts in that order, followed next by male agnates in order of inheritance.

• Under article 189, the mother is granted custody, followed by her mother. If she is unable to take custody, then the wife's maternal aunt is granted custody, followed by the mother's maternal aunt, the mother's paternal aunt, the mother's grandmother, the father's grandmother, the father's paternal aunt, the father's maternal aunt and lastly a cousin, with the mother's side taking precedence over the father's side.
